REup #6 LOVE ONE ANOTHER

REup #6 LOVE ONE ANOTHER

LOVE ONE ANOTHER!

Everyone will know that you’re a Disciple of Christ, when you love other Disciples of Christ.

READ:

John 13:33-35 (NIV)

33 “My children, I will be with you only a little longer. You will look for me, and just as I told the Jews, so I tell you now: Where I am going, you cannot come. 34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

REFLECT:

> Where is Jesus going?

> What is a command?

> Who is Jesus talking to?

> Who did Jesus say that he Loved?

> What has Jesus commanded you to do?

RESPOND:

> Before Jesus gives his life for their sins, He commands His disciples to Love each other.

> All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Jesus, so when He tells His disciples to do something, it is in their best interest to obey Him.

> Jesus is speaking to His Disciples then, and His Disciples now. Those that actually know Him, and follow Him. If you aren’t His disciple, He’s not speaking to you. (Audience Relevance)

> Jesus knows that His disciples will disagree with one another after He leaves because they disagreed and argued with each other when he was with them, but they should continue to Love each other as He loved them.

> If you are a Disciple of Christ, He wants you to Love other Disciples as He has Loved you.

REPENT:

> If you aren’t in community with other Disciples, REPENT!

> Don’t try to justify your reasoning for not spending time with other Disciples, REPENT!

> If you haven’t given your life over to Jesus and you haven’t been Baptized, REPENT! Jesus died for you, what are you waiting on!

> If your love for Christ and your love for other Disciples isn’t discernable, REPENT!

REJOICE:

> You see your brothers and sisters in Christ as they are. Made in the Image of God.

> You treat people as you yourself would like to be treated and you view the world as a gift from God to be taken care of and enjoyed.

> Your love for people is synonymous with you Love for God.
